Welcome to Venetian Bay

Venetian Bay is a gated development situated just off US Highway 192 ( N. Hoagland Boulevard) in Kissimmee. It is conveniently placed, close to all amenities with many shops and restaurants nearby.

The pastel 'Cape Cod' style houses are attractively laid out around a lake where it's pleasant to walk and view the wildlife. There are communal swimming pools, sports and gymn equipment available in the grounds for the use of residents and visitors. For your peace of mind, there is 24 hour security.

There are a wealth of theme parks all within a few minutes drive. Disney, Universal Studios, Sea World are all nearby. Both the Gulf and Atlantic coast, Busch Gardens, and the Kennedy Space centre all about an hour's drive away.

House facilities

The house has four large bedrooms, a king-size master with ensuite bathroom and spa bath, a queen-size master with ensuite bathroom and two twin-bedded rooms with separate bathroom and upstairs vanity unit.

All the bedrooms have television and dvd players and one of the twin bedded rooms has an X box and games. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer and the kitchen is well-equipped with large fridge freezer, dishwasher, waste disposal, juicer, coffee maker etc. There is free wireless internet access and a docking station for your iPod.

We have tried to supply all home comforts and you will find a sewing kit, stationery, colour printer, many dvds, games and books available for your use. There are toiletries in the bathrooms should you run out of something. We use the house ourselves a few times a year and we like to keep it as pleasant and homely as possible.

It's not all about theme parks

Most people who visit this area (myself included) love the theme parks and there's a wealth of them to visit nearby, all within a few minutes journey. My particular favourite is Universal Studios (I have an annual pass!) but I'm also captivated by the magic of Disney's Magic Kingdom.

For shopoholics (me too) there's a vast array of shopping nearby which is hard to resist with the pound so strong against the dollar at present. There's a huge very smart and upmarket mall a few miles away called Mall at Millenia and several designer outlets nearby, too. The choice is yours...

Eating out is an experience too

You can always find somewhere good to eat out in Kisssimmee and Orlando. Breakfast is an amazing experience and my personal favourite for breakfast is Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, just a couple of miles away.

There are many good seafood restaurants too. Shellfish and particularly lobster are plentiful and inexpensive in Florida.

There are plenty of good eating places but you really can't miss out on all the fun places to eat as well. Orlando boasts the largest Hard Rock Cafe in the world at Universal studios and in nearby Downtown disney is the largest Planet Hollywood in the world (not to mention the largest Virgin Megastore in the world too) The Rainforest cafe at Downtown Disney is a popular and exciting place to take the children.

My son and his friends certainly had a good time at Hooters....

Take time away from the theme parks...

...to take in some of Florida's natural beauty.

One of the most amazing trips I took last summer was a ride at dusk on an airboat with friends. It's easy to miss the fact that just a mile or two away from all the hustle and bustle of the theme parks are miles and miles of Florida's unspoilt natural landscapes and wildlife. The scenery was breathtaking. It's an experience I'd emphatically recommend.

The photos show Cypress Lake which is only a short distance away. On this occasion, we saw one of the most impressive sunsets I'd ever seen. With stunning scenery and abundant wildlife it was an exhilarating experience.

Finally...

I hope you have enjoyed the descriptions and photos.

I have added a slide show of some of the photos you've already seen plus a few more of the house and some of the nearby delightful town of Celebration, one of my favourite places, at the bottom of this page.

If the slide show doesn't start up automatically, click the words 'Venetian Bay and surrounding area' to the right of this text box, just underneath the photo of myself and Rowan.....and then scroll back down to the bottom of the page.

If you are interested in staying in my Venetian Bay home I can be contacted at cherrycooksey@tiscali.co.uk

The rental cost for the house per night is $100 (US dollars - approx £50 at the current rate of exchange) + 13% tourist tax. The house sleeps 8 (and there is also a sofa bed in the living room)

You can be sure of a welcome from my property management team on site, Peter and Rachel Anderson, who can arrange your booking and will take care of you when you arrive out in Florida.

All the photographs on this page (except the one I'm in) were taken by me.

There are a few little video clips I've made of the kind of fun moments I've come across in Florida, the impromptu dancing in Johnny Rockets burger restaurant, Macy's Christmas parade at Universal Studios and 'snow' at Christmas in Celebration .
Again, just click on the boxes at the side of this text.

Have a wonderful vacation !
